Career and Motivational Psychotherapy
I have worked with countless clients who are seeking changes in their career/work life. Counselling can be particularly helpful if you are experiencing career-related issues. Some of the main reasons people seek therapy for their careers are:
- Balancing work life with family life
- Changing careers
- Losing your job
- Discrimination in the workplace
- Feeling overworked, under-worked
- Feeling under-valued in your job
- Opening your own business
- Finding work in a global recession
Counselling can define or re-define what you want from your career, what your prospects are, and if you are in transition, clarity on where you want to go next. During this process I help you set goals, explore motivations, and face challenges can be an extremely rewarding experience. Therapy allows you to develop your potential to make those positive changes in your life - so that you realise and achieve your intention.
This is a two way process - and there is no doubt that I will challenge you.
This type of therapy can also be called 'life coaching' - although I should make clear that my training is strictly in Psychotherapy and Psychological Services. It is important to do careful research when seeking a 'life coach,' as many of these therapists do not require a license or any training at all. Be sure to ask your therapist what type of training they have had, and what their experience has been thus far.
